The Australia Awards Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships Program form part of the Australian Government’s Australia Awards.

It is an internationally competitive program for:

  • Australians Citizens to undertake study, research and professional development abroad (Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas)  and
  • Citizens from eligible countries to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia.

Submission is via an online application process and applications close Sunday 30 June 2013 at 11:59 PM AEST. The Office for Research is happy to review your final draft through the provision of a word document version of the application.

This session is for early career researchers and higher degree research students interested in understanding research impact measures so you can develop strategies for where to publish.

Prestigious International Awards Information Seminar

Bhanuka Wanasinghe for the Graduate Research Centre is running his annual seminar on international awards, which will be held on:

Wednesday 24 April, from 12.30pm – 2.30pm in Building P, Room P134, Footscray Park Campus

Information will be presented on three important awards available to our researchers:

1) Endeavour Awards (Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas)

2) German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

3) Fulbright Scholarship (USA)

While the DAADs are mainly for ECRs, there are several categories in both the Fulbright and Endeavour making these awards open to all researcher levels including ECRs.

Seeking Research Funding? – Access Research Professional

Research Professional is an online research fund seeking tool provides a comprehensive funding prospects database, offering researchers the opportunity to search for research funding in all disciplines, from a wide range of sponsors in Australia and overseas. All funding opportunities in the database are eligibility verified for Australian researchers. The database has a user-friendly interface and features powerful searching and customisation tools designed to easily identify research funding prospects. Key words relating to your research can be used to identify a number of funding sources.

Victoria University subscribes to the Research Professional database and use is free of charge. From any computer within the University network, you can start searching directly by going to http://www.researchprofessional.com and choosing Campus Access. Registration for a personal account is free, and takes about 1 minute to complete. To do this, use a computer within the University network and go to http://www.researchprofessional.com, click on ‘Self-registration’ and complete the form.

Every 2 months Research Professional runs a 60 minute online training broadcast, aimed at introducing the basics of creating and configuring personal accounts on Research Professional, as well as introducing the features of the platform. View the session from your own computer, and ask questions via text chat. To register for a session, follow the link below for your desired date.
